Sunday Parent Workshop
We have a stimulating afternoon planned for parents of gifted children. Our featured presentation will be “Understanding, Assessing and Supporting Your Gifted and Talented Child's Potential: A conversation with Andy Mahoney M.S., L.C.P.C.” Andy Mahoney, a counselor and one of the pioneers in the field of counseling the gifted, will present and discuss how parents can create a better “fit” to activate and support their child’s gifted identity potential.  The focus of his presentation will include issues related to achievement, learning, language processing, executive function, assessment challenges, and forming an identity that “fits” when a child is gifted and talented. In addition, we'll have Paula Kosin, who is Marketing Manager and Career Consultant of Career Vision of Glen Ellyn. Her topic will be "Start Early-Start Smart: Why Early College Major & Career Planning is Essential for Gifted Students." Finally, we'll have our traditional breakout discussion groups on topics pertinent to your interests and needs, led by experienced facilitators. Come, share the afternoon and learn with your friends. Please plan to join us!
