Each year we invite people to present at the next convention. Presentations are needed for the areas
of program development, specific subject areas, social and emotional issues, parents, and diverse
gifted populations. Classroom teachers, gifted coordinators, administrators, and parents will be
attending the Seventeenth Annual IAGC Convention. The Call for Proposal is for your use. If you are
interested in making a presentation, or know of someone to recommend, click on the link.

Gifted Education Awareness Week is a great time to show your appreciation for those who are supporters of gifted education. If you have a gifted program in your district then send an email or note to the superintendent and/or school board which expresses your thanks. A quick phone call or message to a teacher or other educator can let them know that their efforts are valued. Stopping by to visit with the principal or curriculum coordinator and sharing your gratitude for educational programs provides them with the understanding that you notice and care. This is a wonderful time for all of us involved with gifted education to come together and support each other.

Gifted Convention Co-chair opening
The Illinois Association for Gifted Children is offering the opportunity for
an individual to co-chair our IAGC Convention. This job would entail
planning and implementation of the event at the Chicago Marriott
Downtown.
Essential aspects of the job description involve collaborating with a co-chair
to accomplish:
• Negotiating a contract.
• Procuring presenters.
• Working with the office staff to implement various components.
• Overseeing all aspects of the convention details including
implementation of the event at the hotel.
• Presenting a report in person or in written form for each quarterly
board meeting.
The total stipend of $5,000 would be paid quarterly to each co-chair. Please
feel free to share this with anyone who you think may be interested in this
